Safety and handling
Mild Irritant handle with standard care
Alum dust and concentrated solutions can irritate eyes and skin, so gloves and eye protection are recommended when handling.
- Hygroscopic: solid alum absorbs moisture from ambient air, so keep bags sealed and stored in a dry space to prevent caking.
- Non-flammable and stable under normal warehouse conditions; dissolves readily in water.

Both are aluminium-based coagulants used in water treatment. Alum (aluminium sulphate) is the traditional, lower-cost coagulant; PAC works over a wider pH range and typically needs a lower dose. Which one suits your plant depends on your raw water characteristics and existing dosing setup.
It's classified as a mild irritant, not corrosive. It can cause eye and skin irritation with prolonged contact, so standard handling calls for gloves and eye protection. It's not flammable and not classified as a dangerous good for transport.
Alum ships in 25 kg and 50 kg bags. Our minimum order quantity is 500 kg; above that, we supply any quantity your production needs.
In a sealed, moisture-proof container, away from direct sunlight. It's hygroscopic, so an open or poorly sealed bag will absorb moisture and start caking.
